Job Description

  • Servers: hands-on with Inspur servers; rack and stack, full server deployment and reassembly daily
  • - No exposure to other server brands; scope restricted to assigned faulty units
  • Networking: CCNA certified; familiar with L2/L3 switching concepts
  • - No real-world switch configuration experience; needed notes to recall show ip interface brief
  • - Correctly explained classful vs. CIDR/VLSM notation when prompted
  • Virtualization: configured Type 2 hypervisor (VirtualBox) only; no bare-metal/DC hypervisor access
  • - Understands VM log checking; confident he can pick up DC-level tools
  • Cabling: no direct patching or labeling experience; scope at current role restricted to server work
  • Asset management: uses Inspur's internal spare parts system; some awareness of DCIM/data hall tools
