Our Planning Department in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia is looking for a strong professional in demand planning, OTB, and product allocation to join us as:

DEMAND PLANNING & ALLOCATION SPECIALIST

Purpose of the Job

As a Demand Planning & Allocation Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving commercial success by ensuring the optimal balance of inventory across the business. You will use data-driven insights to align stock availability with customer demand—ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Optimise Open-to-Buy (OTB) and inventory levels to support sales and profitability
  • Lead distribution planning and inventory analysis across channels
  • Drive effective product allocation and replenishment strategies
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on risk assessment and mitigation

This role is key to ensuring operational excellence and delivering strong product availability and customer satisfaction.

General Duties & Responsibilities

Planning

  • Work closely with Merchandising and Sales teams
  • Analyse sales performance, market trends, and distribution channels
  • Manage OTB and future demand planning
  • Support product allocation through data analysis

Forecasting

  • Develop demand forecasts by SKU and quantity
  • Maintain a 15-month rolling forecast
  • Track forecast vs budget and actual delivery
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly submissions for core SKUs
  • Drive forecast accuracy for both running and seasonal products

Execution

  • Ensure timely stock allocation for launches and sales activities
  • Track sell-through weekly and manage replenishment or consolidation
  • Maintain continuity styles to avoid out-of-stock (NOOS) situations
  • Monitor Days of Holding (DOH) and take corrective actions
  • Support stock planning for promotions, events, and ad hoc activities

Analysis & Review

  • Review monthly sales, stock, and intake performance
  • Analyse demand, distribution, and seasonal trends
  • Track continuity styles weekly for proactive stock actions
  • Review DOH to optimise stock mix and portfolio performance

Requirements

  • 2–3 years professional experience, including 1–2 years in demand planning & allocation (experience with large SKU volumes preferred)
  • Apparel experience preferred; open to FMCG or lifestyle industries
  • Strong commercial mindset with forecasting experience
  • Strong numerical skills with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Good command of English (written & spoken); Bahasa Melayu is a plus
  • SAP knowledge is an advantage
  • Able to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive
  • Reliable team player with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Adaptable with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Full working rights in Malaysia
