Demand Planning & Inventory Data Senior Specialist - Remote
About The Role
We're looking for a data-driven Demand Planning & Inventory expert to own our forecasting process, lead S&OP, and optimize inventory across all warehouses. You'll ensure product availability, minimize stockouts and excess, and elevate planning accuracywhile keeping master data in SAP rock-solid.
What You'll Do
Demand Planning & Forecasting:
- Build and maintain accurate forecasts for all product lines using historicals, market trends, and sales inputs.
- Apply statistical tools/APS to evaluate models and test new methodologies.
- Continuously refine forecasts based on market dynamics and stakeholder feedback.
S&OP Leadership
- Run the monthly S&OP cycle to align demand and supply with business goals.
- Facilitate cross-functional S&OP meetings; surface risks, gaps, and scenarios.
- Communicate forecast and inventory status to stakeholders regularly.
Inventory Management & Master Data
- Track inventory health (DOH, turns, coverage vs policy) and trigger proactive actions (rebalancing, planned run-outs, write-off prevention).
- Implement best-practice controls (cycle counts, variance RCA, reorder policy reviews) to lift turns and reduce carrying cost.
- Own planning parameters (safety stock, min/max, lead times, lot sizes) with a fixed review cadence.
- Ensure SAP master data accuracy (UOM, lead times, MRP views, locations/bins, batch/expiry); resolve gaps with Warehouse/IT and enforce governance.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process opportunities across planning and inventory.
- Introduce best practices and emerging tech to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay current on industry trends and methods.
Ad Hoc
- Take on related tasks that support the team's objectives.
Education
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business, or related; Master's a plus.
Experience
- 5+ years in demand planning/forecasting or supply chain (FMCG/pet food preferred).
- Hands-on S&OP and inventory management experience.
- Strong proficiency with APS/ERP (SAP or similar), MRP, purchasing, and production planning.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365; working knowledge of Project and Power BI.
- Proven ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (Nice To Have)
- APICS/CPIM/CSCP or equivalent; LEAN/Six Sigma (Black Belt or above a plus).
