Job Description

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Minimum qualification: Diploma in Nursing with any Post Basic
  2. Registered with the Malaysia Nursing Board (Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia)
  3. Minimum of 8 years managerial working experience
  4. Ability to lead, mentor and manage nursing staffs
  5. Familiarity with healthcare laws, accreditation standards, and compliance protocols
  6. Good communication skills, resourceful, proactive, independent and responsible
  7. Hospital setting experience is an added advantage

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise the Nursing team
  • Participate and contribute to educational activities
  • Access clinical activity and patient dependency level throughout the hospital nursing department.
  • Act as resource person for all nursing personnel, other health professional, patients and their family.
  • Access factors that impact on occupational health and safety of nursing staff. Demonstrate personal adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Identify unsafe care practices and assume responsibility for intervention.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism in all dealing with patients, families and members of the public.
  • Work in close liaison with Nursing Unit and Nurse Managers to solve identified issues, documentations, practices.
  • Act as senior management resource person for the hospital.
  • Develop effective channels of communication with all nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with the selection of new employees and staff promotion
  • Deploy or re-allocate ward staff as and when required
  • Provide staff support and counselling when required
  • Assist in the preparation of sequence of events for grievances of patients / dissatisfaction of treatment.
  • Monitor and verify staff overtime claim
  • Compiling incident reporting, assessing, investigating, analysing, and ensuring action plans are taken and providing training on shortfalls.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by Management
