Job Description

Job Purpose

To support the Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury in the evaluation, structuring, and execution of corporate finance, funding, and treasury initiatives that advance UEM Group's strategic, financial, and capital management objectives.

Job Accountabilities

  1. To assist in evaluating and implementing corporate proposals, funding strategies and capital-raising exercises in line with UEM Group's strategic and financial objectives, including preliminary desktop valuations and assessment of transaction rationale.
  2. To conduct and review company valuations using appropriate valuation methodologies to support investment, divestment, funding and due diligence decisions, ensuring that valuation assumptions are reasonable, supportable and aligned with market benchmarks.
  3. Develop, review and maintain financial models, including cash flow projections, profit and loss forecasts, balance sheets, debt schedules and sensitivity analyses, to support valuation, due diligence, funding, liquidity planning and Asset-Liability Management (ALM) assessments.
  4. Source, analyze and maintain market intelligence from financial institutions, rating agencies and other relevant sources to support treasury decisions, funding plans, capital management planning, liquidity management and optimisation of financing terms and structures in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  5. Monitor and ensure corporate finance, treasury and capital market activities comply with applicable Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia, rating agency, internal policy and other statutory or regulatory requirements.
  6. Assist in preparing management, committee and Board papers on corporate proposals, funding strategies, treasury matters, capital-raising exercises and ALM-related recommendations.
  7. Support ALM and treasury governance by monitoring debt maturity profiles, liquidity buffers, funding gaps, interest rate and refinancing risks, and preparing related inputs for risk, sustainability and management reporting where required.
  8. Prepare and review ALM impact assessments for material funding, investment, dividend and capital deployment proposals.
  9. Support the CFO and Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury in translating UEM Group's capital allocation architecture into financial analysis, funding recommendations and decision papers for proposed investments, divestments, funding plans and strategic initiatives.

Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Banking or Business-Related Studies with at least a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly committed, confident, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to work and strong team collaboration skills.
  • Good knowledge of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, sustainability practices, and relevant local and international sustainability frameworks, including but not limited to the Securities Commission Malaysia's Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) Sukuk Framework.
