Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager (Data Hall Fit Out) to manage the complete lifecycle of data hall fit-out projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with clients to understand their requirements, managing external consultants, overseeing contractors, and ensuring all work is completed on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, building codes, safety regulations, and excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete fit-out design within data halls, from initial client consultation to final project handover, including but not limited to Rack, CAC/HAC (Cold/Hot aisle containment) coordination, cage setup, cable tray, waterfall design, grounding, ceeform, combined service drawings within the data hall including cable ladder, fiber runner cable basket, secure trunking, busbar, ceiling, CCTV, PA, Lighting, PDU, busbar and etc.
  • Liaise directly with clients to understand their requirements, gather specifications, and manage expectations.
  • Manage external consultants (Telecom and security consultant), providing clear direction and ensuring deliverables meet project requirements within the data hall.
  • Oversee the procurement and installation of all necessary equipment and materials.
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed on time, and to the highest quality standards within the data hall. This includes regular site inspections, quality control checks, and proactive problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports to management and clients.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all project documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the commissioning and handover of completed projects.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic / IT or a related field.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in data hall fit-out projects, with a demonstrable focus on data hall infrastructure installation.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered as manager or senior manager role.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and expectations.
  • Experience managing external consultants and contractors.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation of cable baskets, cable ladders, HACs, racks, and grounding systems.
  • Strong understanding of data center design within the Data Hall especially telecom design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other relevant design software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with relevant building codes and safety regulations.
  • Experience with commissioning and handover processes.
  • Proficient in English is a must. Proficient in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
