Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the engineering and system design of BESS, including battery sizing, cable sizing, grid integration, and balance of plant.
- Work with consultants to conduct load flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analyses for new project development.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), functional specifications, and operational procedures.
- Review vendor and equipment specifications, ensuring compatibility with project requirements.
- Manage technical coordination with clients, EPC contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting, performance optimization, and issue resolution.
- Evaluate new battery technologies, energy management systems (EMS), and advanced control strategies for future projects.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
- Contribute to tender preparation, proposal writing, and cost estimation for new projects.
- Lead Grid Code testing for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in power systems, renewable energy, or BESS.
- Strong expertise in battery technologies, power conversion systems (PCS), and energy management systems (EMS).
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as HOMER and PVsyst.
- Solid understanding of grid code compliance, protection coordination, and interconnection requirements.
- Experience in managing EPC contracts, vendor negotiations, and regulatory approvals.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and project management skills.
- Strong technical writing and documentation abilities.
