Job Overview
To work with the eCommerce Development manager to plan, code and publish new components and content for the Clarks ecommerce websites in line with seasonal trading plans and in response to trade reactive decisions. Ensures all new and existing web content quality and website performance standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the eCommerce Development manager in coordinating the delivery of components for the Clarks websites in line with seasonal Digital Trading Plans.
- Develop new components and web content as applicable - maintaining both design quality, accessibility, responsiveness and site performance, ensuring efficiency in delivery and communicating improvements to key stakeholders.
- Ensuring all components work with all regions and languages used on our platforms.
- Develop technical capabilities of web content; through close collaboration with the Brand and UI designers and with the UX specialists ensuring content functionality is optimized across all devices.
- Publish applicable components to key dates; testing experience across devices before deploying to the live environment.
- Deliver components in time to support seasonal site activity based on agreed plans with digital teams, providing technical input into Content design process to ensure functionality on all devices is fully optimized and usable.
- Code and manage all HTML, JavaScript and CSS code to best practice standards for Accessibility, sitespeed and responsiveness.
- The build and QA of Monetate (A/B testing) experiences using JavaScript to manipulate site content/functionality and helping to set up trackable metrics
- Maintain housekeeping standards in Amplience Headless CMS and GiT repositories.
- Execution of redirects when required.
- Support tools and website testing as part of the CICD release programme.
- Maintain SEO standards to agreed best practice by inputting technical elements for SEO optimization and ensure pages are coded correctly for SEO best practices.
- Using Photoshop, Figma and Amplience to optimize graphics for web

- Applicable trade components and Content page updates are planned and delivered on time, meeting deadlines and requirements agreed with the eCommerce team.
- Code, test and release optimized web page designs on time and to agreed standards using HTML, CSS and JavaScript based technologies.
- Brand, Business and Marketing SEO content delivered to the highest standards.
- Successful implementation of marketing data capture forms using Salesforce
- Ensure the Headless Content Management System is used efficiently to agreed best practice standards.
- Customer focused, with Accessibility, SEO and site speed baked into all responsive content
- Planned and agreed approach to weekly content publish
- Keep up to date with emerging web technologies and make recommendations on appropriate use within the Clarks digital business.
Qualifications
Successful Experience:
- Proven experience of Amplience (Headless CMS)
- Proven website management and publishing experience
- Experience of working in eCommerce as part of a multiple disciplined team
- Experience of working within a multi-lingual web development environment
- Evidence of picking up complex processes and technical systems
- Responsive websites & content
- Web design
Essential Knowledge:
- Web publishing best practice including content management systems
- Search Engine Optimization techniques and best practice
- Knowledge of PPC (paid search) traffic acquisition methods
- Web analytics tools
- Accessibility standards (Preferably WCAG 2 and above)
- Website infrastructures general knowledge of current and emerging technologies and platforms
- Willingness to pick up new skills and technologies
