The Opportunity

We are seeking a Digital Strategy Analyst to join the CDO's office as a core member of a lean, high-impact team. You will evaluate digital investment opportunities, develop compelling investment theses, and help shape the strategic direction of JCG's digital portfolio. This role offers direct exposure to sovereign wealth-level decision making, regional infrastructure deals, and the rapidly evolving Southeast Asian digital economy.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate digital investment opportunities across data centers, fiber infrastructure, AI/tech startups, and emerging technology sectors

• Conduct market analysis, competitive landscaping, and economic modelling to support investment decisions

• Develop investment memos, board presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership

• Monitor regional digital ecosystem developments (JSEZ, ASEAN markets, Western & Eastern Tech) and synthesize insights for the Malaysian context

• Build and maintain financial models for deal evaluation and portfolio monitoring

• Support due diligence processes and coordinate with external advisors

• Contribute to shaping strategy for Hatchlabs, JCG's technology solutions subsidiary

What We're Looking For
Background

• 3-7 years of experience in digital strategy, consulting, venture capital, or corporate strategy roles

• Economics, engineering, business, or related degree; candidates from startups with demonstrated strategic thinking are equally welcome

• Experience with investments, deal evaluation, or business case development is highly valued

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong grasp of digital ecosystems, emerging technologies (AI/ML, data centers, blockchain, cloud infrastructure), and their business implications

• Ability to contextualize global technology trends for the Malaysian and Southeast Asian market

• Excellent financial and economic analysis capabilities

• Outstanding presentation and communication skills; ability to craft compelling slides and narratives for C-suite and board audiences

• Proficiency with AI tools for productivity (Claude, ChatGPT); familiarity with advanced capabilities such as MCP (Model Context Protocol), agentic workflows, or AI-augmented research is a strong plus

• Ability to vibe code MVP Apps using tools such as VSCode, Cursor, Lovable, Figma, Bolt, Supabase, AWS and Azure will be an added advantage
