Role Overview
The Digital Transformation Engineer drives process simplification and automation across operations, with a strong focus on improving efficiency, reducing manual intervention, and enhancing accuracy.
This role plays a key part in advancing digital transformation initiatives by delivering practical, scalable, and results-driven automation solutions operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
ENGINEERING DRAWING AUTOMATION (PROJECT BASED)
- Analyse and streamline existing drawing workflows to eliminate unnecessary steps
- Design and develop automated drawing solutions using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Develop parameter-driven templates and rule-based configurations
- Enable simplified or one-click drawing generation based on key inputs
- Standardise drawing formats, layouts, and outputs for consistency
- Integrate drawing outputs with BOM and production systems to reduce duplication
PROCESS SIMPLIFICATION & WORKFLOW AUTOMATION
- Review end-to-end operational processes to identify inefficiencies
- Redesign workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and reduce manual handling
- Implement automation using low-code platforms, scripts, or custom tools
- Drive automation initiatives across engineering and operational functions
AUTOMATION & DIGITAL SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT- Design and develop automation solutions using tools such as:
- UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), VBA (Excel or CAD-related automation), Programming/scripting (C#, Python, PowerShell, or similar)
- Integrate systems and data flows using APIs or automation platforms
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with operational needs
SYSTEM INTEGRATION & DIGITALIZATION
- Strengthen integration across operational business processes.
- Support digitalisation initiatives to reduce manual records and improve traceability
- Enhance data flow and visibility across departments
STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION
- Partner closely with internal teams to ensure solutions meet operational requirements
- Act as a subject matter expert in automation and digitalisation initiatives
- Collaborate with external vendors and technology partners to support implementation
- Evaluate and recommend tools, systems, and vendors aligned with business needs
- Coordinate system integration, troubleshooting, and enhancements with vendors
- Provide training and support to drive user adoption of new solutions
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of automation solutions
- Identify opportunities to further improve efficiency and simplify processes
- Maintain proper documentation for systems, workflows, and automation tools
Requirements & Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or any related discipline
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in automation, digital transformation, or manufacturing environments
- Proven track record in process simplification, reducing manual steps, and improving operational efficiency
- Strong experience in designing and developing automation solutions
- Experience with system integration and data flow automation across operational processes
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills
