The Director of Finance is responsible for leading and managing all financial, accounting, taxation, compliance and control functions of the hotel. The role serves as a strategic business partner to the General Manager, providing financial leadership, commercial insight, and decision support to maximize profitability, safeguard assets, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, and deliver sustainable business performance. The Director of Finance plays a key role within the hotel's leadership team, supporting operational and strategic decision-making while maintaining strong relationships with Owners, auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Summar
- Lead and oversee all accounting, financial reporting, taxation, treasury, payroll, credit, cost control and financial control functions of the hotel
- Serve as the primary financial advisor and strategic business partner to the General Manager, providing financial insights and recommendations to maximize profitability and business value
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, business plans, forecasts, cash flow projections and capital expenditure plans
- Monitor and manage the hotel's Profit & Loss performance, ensuring revenue optimization, cost control and achievement of financial targets
- Ensure timely, accurate and compliant financial reporting in accordance with statutory, corporate and ownership requirements
- Maintain strong internal controls, risk management practices and governance frameworks to safeguard hotel assets and prevent financial irregularities
- Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory, taxation, audit and corporate requirements
- Manage relationships with hotel owners, auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, government agencies and other key stakeholders
- Present financial performance, budgets, forecasts to stakeholders and management company
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, asset management and capital expenditure to support operational and strategic objectives
- Lead financial analysis and business performance reviews, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, productivity and operational efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, systems, controls and reporting capabilities
- Develop, mentor and lead a high-performing finance team while fostering collaboration across departments
- Act as a key member of the hotel's leadership team, providing financial expertise and support to all departments in achieving business goals
- Promote a culture of accountability, commercial awareness, compliance and financial discipline throughout the organization
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related disciplin
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is highly preferre
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior finance leadership role within the hospitality indust
- Proven experience as Director of Finance, Financial Controller or equivalent leadership position in an international hotel, resort or hospitality gro
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, P&L management, cash flow management and capital expenditure planni
- Demonstrated expertise in statutory compliance, taxation, audits, internal controls, and corporate governan
- Strong track record in managing owner relations, asset managers, auditors, tax authorities, banks, and government agenci
- Experience working with hotel management systems and financial reporting too
- Familiarity with hospitality management companies is highly desirable.
