Job Summary

The Director, Legal provides strategic legal leadership and counsel to a growing organisation. This senior leadership opportunity for an experienced legal professional who can navigate complex legal and regulatory matters while balancing business objectives, risk and opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with organisational objectives

• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and key stakeholders

• Lead legal and regulatory compliance, including policies, procedures and assessments

• Oversee the negotiation, drafting and review of contracts and agreements

• Manage litigation, disputes and external legal counsel

• Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights and patents

• Provide legal guidance on corporate dealings, transactions and conveyancing matters

• Engage with government agencies, regulators and other external stakeholders

• Advise on employee and industrial relations matters

• Lead and manage the Legal function, including budget management and team development

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Law from an accredited institution

• Admission to the relevant Bar is an advantage

• Minimum 10 - 15 years of legal experience, with at least 7 years in a managerial capacity

• Strong experience in litigation, tenancy, debt recovery, intellectual property, corporate dealings, conveyancing, property and employee/industrial relations matters

• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation and communication capabilities

• Sound understanding of legal, regulatory and industry developments
