Director of IT

We are on the lookout for a Director of IT to be part of the dynamic team to build a next generation digital insurer.

We are a small but dynamic bunch, working hard to bring a new digital product proposition to the market quickly. That means you will be part of the core team that shapes the product and the direction of our next stage!

You will be leading the technology team, overseeing the technology development, cloud infrastructure, systems maintenance, ensuring cybersecurity and coordinating with other departments to meet business goals.

You will also manage the technology budgets, stay informed about emerging technologies to drive innovation and operational success.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

• Lead the entire technology function, including software development, cloud infrastructure, system maintenance, and cybersecurity.

• Oversee end-to-end technology development for a next-generation digital insurance platform.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business goals.

• Manage IT budgets, cost forecasting, and resource allocation.

• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to drive innovation and operational efficiency.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years leading teams of 15+ in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade systems and applications using modern technologies and agile methodologies.

• Minimum 5 years managing cloud-agnostic infrastructure using modern architecture (IaC, containers, clustering, autoscaling, self-healing, etc.).

• Strong experience establishing SDLC policies (source control, testing, defect management, CI/CD).

• Strong experience establishing cloud, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps policies.

• Proven ability in technology budgeting and cost-effective operations.

• Strong capability to assess and recommend new tech solutions to support business goals.
