Job Summary

The Director, Strategic Communication will be the strategic lead for all marketing and community & outreach strategies. The Director will oversee both external marketing and internal communications functions to align the brand message and will be responsible for planning, organising, staffing and managing all marketing and community initiatives. The Director will lead in developing awareness for Company's corporate mission, enhance brand recognition, increase end-user engagement through digital and traditional marketing & community strategies and channels. The job will also involve a wide range of initiatives including: encouraging greater collaboration between Company and potential partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Company's strategic marketing, communications, and community engagement plans.
  • Lead brand management to ensure consistent messaging, standards, and visibility across all platforms.
  • Oversee direct marketing, public relations, advertising, online marketing, social media, and event campaigns.
  • Serve as a thought leader and marketing/communications subject matter expert internally and externally.
  • Manage Company's social media strategy to increase engagement and brand awareness.
  • Oversee the development of print and digital communications, including annual reports, marketing collateral, and website content.
  • Act as Company's spokesperson and manage media interactions, press relations, and advertising partnerships.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor community and outreach programs, ensuring timely, high-impact delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate, government, and community stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging marketing and communications opportunities, challenges, and solutions.
  • Prepare and manage marketing and community budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives assigned by the CEO or Board, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Provide guidance, training, and development for community outreach staff and program participants.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes, campaign performance, and organizational impact to senior management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 1012 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, marketing, branding, or public relations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies at organisational or enterprise level.
  • Strong expertise in brand management, corporate communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as an organisational spokesperson and manage high-level media interactions.
  • Experience leading digital, social media, and content strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Solid understanding of community engagement and outreach programme development, including partnership management.
  • Proven financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, procurement, cost control, and reconciliation.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare speeches, presentations, and executive-level reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including coaching, capability development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, including CEO, Board of Directors, government agencies, and corporate partners.
  • High level of professionalism, judgement, and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
