JOB FUNCTION : AUTOMATION ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN & GREEN FARMING

JOB REQUIREMENT:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical) or Agriculture Technology / Smart Farming
2. Minimum 812 years of experience in automation systems, precision agriculture, or smart farming solutions
3. Strong knowledge of IoT, AI, robotics, and sensor-based farming technologies
4. Experience in greenhouse systems, hydroponics, or vertical farming is an advantage
5. Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and large-scale projects
6. Ability to design and implement automated farming systems and digital agriculture platforms
7. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
8. Familiar with sustainability practices and green technology standards
9. Good project management and budgeting skills

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

1. Deliver technical contributions that meet farm & production needs, as assigned, and develops the technical capacity for machinery/ equipment programming/voltage in the production and farms.

2. To automate and make improvements to the machine washer to cater for the farm ie. Baskets, channels and cleaning for vegetables.

3. To train and lead a group of engineers and technicians in the maintenance department

4. Identify and develop project tools that can be incorporated into the larger practice area; establish technical core materials, information resources and on the job trainings.

5. Increase programmatic and technical skills of field in the green house and production by designing and collaborating on trainings and/or information resources to meet company goals.

6. On a project basis, identify challenges and opportunities in the agricultural system that can be unlocked through building automation system to reduce human error, facilitation of access to inputs and services for process improvement to the production machineries and system.

7. Elevate significant technical issues to Management, project managers or supervisor, as appropriate.

8. Have an active role in new process & system development/ improvements, contributing to proposal efforts as technical writer, technical lead, technical reviewer or by providing technical content.

9. Deliver specific short-term technical assistance (STTA) to projects or tasks.

10. Complete proposal activities such as: (a) collaborating with partner organizations ie suppliers/ vendors, (b) conducting field research, (e) designing implementation schedules, (c) establishing monitoring systems, (d) integrating all available information.

11. Identify and qualify new business opportunities and process improvements to achieve new business goals.
