Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Provide strategic leadership in formulating and implementing the overall direction, objectives, and targets for student welfare and wellbeing services - encompassing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of student life.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support and Advocacy

Develop and manage a holistic masterplan that integrates student wellbeing, financial aid, accommodation support, mental health, and spiritual care, as well as the strategic planning and use of student spaces to ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing living and learning environment in compliance with the regulations and standards of the university.

Wellbeing and Welfare

Lead and oversee the design and delivery of comprehensive welfare support systems that address students academic, financial, and personal needs. Develop policies and initiatives that promote inclusiveness, equity, and accessibility for all students. Coordinate with academic and administrative units to ensure seamless support for students facing personal or financial challenges. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of welfare programs and continuously improve based on feedback and emerging needs

Space and Environment Management

Provide strategic direction in the planning and management of student living and wellbeing spaces - including residences, social hubs, and wellness facilities - to ensure they are safe, comfortable, and conducive to holistic development. Collaborate with campus planning, facilities, and sustainability teams to create spaces that foster connection, rest, and wellbeing. Implement design principles that support accessibility, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability.

Spiritual Wellbeing Support

Lead and oversee development of programs and facilities that support students spiritual needs across diverse faiths and beliefs. Guide the team in using reflection, empathy, and moral development extensively through interfaith dialogues, mindfulness sessions, and values-based initiatives. Ensure spiritual care services are inclusive, respectful, and contribute positively to student wellbeing and community harmony.

Mental Health

Establish proactive mental health frameworks together with the team, focusing on developing inclusive and resilient graduates. Drive campaigns aimed at championing mental health among the UTP community. Integrate wellbeing practices into the campus culture through partnerships with faculty, student leaders, and residential communities.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Recognised Master's degree in relevant field.

  • More than 10 years of experience in a university operational set up and managing student related activities.

  • Professional qualification and advanced degree would be an added advantage

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent analytical abilities
