Job Description

Role: Drafting Engineer (Drafting Design Specialist)

Location: Bandar Sunway

Workdays: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 8:15 AM 5:00 PM

Salary: RM 4,000 - RM 6,000

Contract Term: 12 Months

Job Summary

The Drafting Engineer supports lift installation and modernization projects by preparing precise shop drawings, layout designs, and technical documentation. The role collaborates closely with project teams, consultants, and factory counterparts to ensure all lift designs meet technical standards, site conditions, and regulatory requirements. Strong AutoCAD skills, lift-industry knowledge, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Job Description

1. Inquiry / Tender Stage

  • Prepare preliminary sketches based on inputs from architects, consultants, and main contractors.

2. Secured Job LOI / LOA

a. New Installation (Full Shop Drawing Preparation):

  • Produce shop drawings and full layout drawings
  • Develop car cage design
  • Prepare hall call button and Car Operating Panel drawings
  • Create single line diagrams (MR / MRL)
  • Prepare Supervisory Panel and routing plan
  • Prepare escalator and travelator drawings

b. Modernization (Shop Segment Drawing):

  • Prepare segment drawings for shaft, door, travel height, overhead height, pit depth, motor room plan, and motor room slab opening
  • Conduct site photo documentation
  • Develop shop drawings based strictly on site measurements and conditions provided by the Sales team

3. Attend handover meetings with stakeholders

4. Work closely with Project Engineers on required amendments

5. Participate in technical meetings

  • Engage with consultants, main contractors, and architects for technical queries

6. Prepare shop drawings and factory specifications

  • Coordinate with the factory to verify drawings and provide corrective information

7. Assist in contract review (upon request)

  • Cross-check approval drawings, factory shop drawings, and site shop drawings before ordering

8. Prepare first schedule submission

  • Ensure compliance with country regulations and certification requirements

9. Prepare As-Built drawings for O&M Manuals

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

2 years of experience in the lift industry (preferred)

Open to fresh graduate

Proficiency in AutoCAD

Proactive, able to multitask, and able to work independently
