Plan, design, and support the execution of drilling operations to ensure wells are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Develop well designs, drilling programs, operational procedures, and engineering documentation in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and expenditure forecasts while monitoring project costs and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
Coordinate and schedule drilling activities to ensure timely execution while maintaining operational integrity and HSE compliance.
Provide technical engineering support throughout drilling operations, including troubleshooting, risk assessment, and operational decision-making.
Monitor drilling performance, analyze operational data and non-productive time (NPT), and implement recommendations to improve drilling efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Develop and review technical specifications, scopes of work, and procurement documentation for drilling equipment, materials, and services.
Coordinate rig inspections, equipment acceptance, and quality assurance activities to ensure drilling equipment and services meet operational and safety requirements.
Conduct engineering studies, capture lessons learned, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance drilling performance and operational reliability.
Prepare end-of-well reports, technical documentation, and post-operation reviews to support knowledge sharing and future drilling campaigns.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and service providers to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualification/Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
Deepwater drilling experience (minimum 5 years) is preferred.
Valid OPITO BOSIET certification.
Strong knowledge of drilling engineering, well planning, well design, well construction, and drilling optimization.
Proficiency in industry-standard drilling engineering and well planning software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
