Active, visible, and committed in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) by applying a high priority to safety performance in the planning and evaluation of all drilling and completion operations.
Active participation in HAZID/HAZOP/JSA and other EHS program.
Deliver cost effective drilling fluids and waste management engineering solutions for input into the design of exploration, appraisal and development wells. Inputs include but not limited to wellbore stability, reservoir damage minimization, logistics, hole cleaning/ tight mud weight window/ERD considerations, environmental, drilling fluids waste management, solids control management, etc.
Drive performance from Drilling Fluids and Cementing service providers. Audit service company performance and assure compliance to contracts. Get the best value for money on drilling fluid and cementing actual expenditure.
As a Technical Focal Point for Drilling Fluids and Cementing service providers. To provide operational support in the areas of drilling fluids and cement design, troubleshooting, new product/system introduction and technical requirements during operation.
To work closely with the liquid mud plant and offshore logistics departments in particular in monitoring the bulk transfers from supply base to the drilling rig.
To perform QA/QC of service suppliers procedures and work instructions.
To prepare the invitation to bid documents and participate in tender evaluations. To prepare drilling fluids and administration of PR and PO in MAXIMO. To provide support to the Contract Focal and assurance of respective contractor compliance as per contract.
Qualification/Skills:
Bachelor of Science (minimum) or have considerable relevant
compensating worldwide industry experience and training.
10 years or more operational experience, of which 5 years minimum in the Malay Basin, in both water based and oil based mud systems.
5 years minimum experience as a Drilling Fluids Specialist.
Extensive experience in solids control equipment, mud cooler and waste management equipment.
Extensive experience in ERD Drilling and drilling in formations with extremely tight ECD margins including manage pressure drilling and wellbore strengthening.
Drilling fluids optimization with the objective to obtain the most cost effective and lowest drilling fluid cost per meter drilled.
Extensive experience in procurement process including bid package preparation and evaluation of drilling fluid related services and equipment.
Detailed knowledge in water and oil based mud systems and formulations and, non-damaging reservoir drill-in fluids system and formulations.
Knowledge on mud systems impact on wellbore stability in stratified formations.
Knowledge on cement technical requirements and cementing operations.
Knowledgeable on safety, health and environmental requirements especially on oil based mud systems.
General knowledge on completion operations, liquid mud plant operations.
Knowledge on hydraulics software packages from service providers.
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office packages.
