Job Summary:
The Drilling Supervisor is responsible for managing daily offshore drilling activities and ensuring operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with technical programs and regulatory standards. This role acts as the key field representative of the drilling team and ensures proper execution of well programs in collaboration with contractors, service providers, and the offshore installation team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise contractors in executing drilling and related activities in accordance with the approved drilling program and safety regulations.
- Enforce adherence to safety protocols, company standards, and environmental guidelines at all times.
- Provide operational instructions to contractors and coordinate closely with the Senior Drilling Supervisor.
- Manage offshore site activities including rig operations, data collection, drilling reports, and coordination with the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM).
- Ensure timely communication between drilling crews, logistics teams, and engineering offices to enable smooth execution.
- Safeguard personnel safety and minimize environmental risks in emergency situations.
- Conduct service contractor evaluations and promote a collaborative work environment.
- Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and implement preventive measures.
- Monitor resource usage to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Provide regular updates and troubleshoot any operational issues in collaboration with the office-based drilling team.
- Support end-of-well evaluations and lessons learned documentation.
Requirements:
- Minimum ten (10) years of oil & gas industry experience in a PSC operator environment with at least five (5) years as a Drilling Supervisor.
- Experience supervising offshore subsea exploration wells.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and LANDMARK Open Wells software.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Certified in BOSIET and IWCF Well Control (Subsea Supervisor Level).
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian drilling regulations and PETRONAS compliance standards.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is preferred.
- Able to work offshore on rotational schedule and in multicultural teams.
