DWDM Engineer

• Deploy, configure, and optimize OTN/DWDM systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve optical network issues.
• Ensure network reliability with low latency and high capacity.
• Integrate OTN/DWDM with IP/MPLS, GPON, and enterprise networks.
• Conduct technical training for customer staff.
• Develop training materials and mentor junior engineers.
• Configure and maintain DWDM/OTN Network
• Perform fiber characterization tests (OTDR, OSA, Power Meter, End to End Stability Tests).
• Monitor wavelength assignments, power levels, and network degradation.
• Implement protection schemes (1+1, SNCP, OLP, ASON).

Job Requirements

• Hands-on experience with OTN/DWDM equipment.
• Familiar with network monitoring tools (U2000, NMS, Infinera DNA, Nokia NFM-T, Ciena MCP, Netnumen U31, UME ZENICONE.).
• Understanding of fiber management, AC/DC wiring, and optical network standards (ITU-T G.709, G.875).
• Proficiency in Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office.
• Minimum 2 years in OTN/DWDM technical support or network operations.
• Experience with telecom carriers, ISPs, or enterprise transport networks.
• Knowledge of 5G backhaul, metro fiber, and submarine cable networks is a plus.
• Own transport (car) and willing to travel within East Malaysia.
