DWDM Resident Engineer

Job Description

• Hands-on experience with OTN/DWDM equipment.
• Proficient in WDM and OTN technologies, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with EMS/NMS/NPS systems for proposed network solution.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to train and transfer knowledge to internal NOC teams.
• Availability for on-call support outside of working hours for major outage's incidents.
• Perform fiber characterization tests (BER Test, OSA, Power Meter).
• Monitor wavelength assignments, power levels, and network degradation.
• Implement protection schemes (1+1, SNCP, OLP, ASON).
• Understanding of fiber management, AC/DC wiring, and optical network standards (ITU-T G.709, G.875).

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Own transport (car) and willing to travel within East Malaysia.
• Detail-oriented, independent, and able to handle pressure.
• Only open to local Malaysians.
• Local from Sarawak will be prioritized.
