THE ROLE
This internship is built around exposure. You will be sitting inside an active BD function — observing and participating in how new business opportunities are identified, researched, structured, and converted. The work you contribute along the way will be real and will feed into live deal cycles, but the primary purpose is for you to build a genuine understanding of how digital commerce business development works in practice.
Alongside the BD exposure, you will also pick up broader operational familiarity with how a digital commerce division runs — supporting general administrative tasks across the team when needed.

What You Will Learn & Be Involved In
Research & Competitive Analysis
You will be given structured research tasks with clear briefs. The expectation is that you learn how to find reliable information, make sense of it, and present it in a way that is actually useful — not just a data dump.
- Compile category and market data for specific client briefs — market sizing, growth trends, online vs offline channel splits
- Map competitor landscapes — who the key players are, where they are active, how they are positioned on price and product
- Learn how to evaluate data sources and flag where numbers are uncertain or unverifiable
- Organise research outputs into structured summaries that can be used by the BD team
Pipeline & Deal Administration
Staying on top of a live pipeline is a discipline in itself. You will support the administrative layer that keeps everything moving, and in doing so, learn how a BD pipeline is actually managed day-to-day.
- Help maintain the leads tracker — deal stages, follow-up timelines, last contact dates, next steps
- Flag overdue follow-ups and keep the BD Director informed on what needs attention
- Maintain organised records across all active deals — correspondence, documents, proposal versions
- Assist with meeting preparation materials and note-taking when required
General Digital Commerce Operations
As part of a broader Digital Commerce team, you may also be called on to support general operational and administrative tasks across the division — giving you a wider view of how the business runs beyond BD.
- Support documentation and filing tasks across team functions as needed
- Assist with coordinating inputs for client-facing documents such as RFI or RFP submissions
- Help with internal coordination tasks — scheduling, tracking action items, preparing briefing materials
- Pick up ad hoc operational requests from the wider team from time to time
Who We Are Looking For
Background
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Final year or penultimate year students preferred
- Some familiarity with e-commerce platforms — Lazada, Shopee, or TikTok Shop — as a user or through coursework is a plus
Skills
- Comfortable doing independent research and pulling information from multiple sources
- Decent command of Excel or Google Sheets — basic data organisation, clean formatting
- Good written English — clear, concise, structured
- Able to work with PowerPoint or Google Slides at a functional level
- Organised enough to keep track of multiple tasks running at the same time
