The Economics and Commercial Analyst's role is to work with and assist the International Assets Oversight Team on the development, evaluation, analysis and reporting of commercial, financial and economic models, business planning, and any other tasks which may be required from time to time. The analyst will play a key role in the strategic planning and decision support for the Group's assets in the United Kingdom and/or Brunei.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESAssist the Senior Manager of Economics and Commercial in:
- Economics Evaluation, Business Planning & Analysis:
- Develop, maintain and update economic models: developing reports, presentations and financial models for technical and financial analysis of ongoing projects and new ventures.
- Conducting economic evaluations and analysis to assess the feasibility of projects and facilitate the investment decision making process.
- Assist in the analysis and preparation of annual business plans, budgets, and long-range strategic plans for the United Kingdom and/or Brunei.
- Collaborate with technical teams in the incorporation of reserves, production, capex/opex forecasts and risk profiles into economic evaluation.
- Track operational and cash flow performance against key indicators (production, cost, capex, opex) and variance analyses.
- Strategic & Commercial Support:
- Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives such as new venture assessments, M&A evaluations, economics and portfolio reviews.
- Conduct benchmarking of asset performance against peers and global trends.
- Conduct and contribution to the preparation of presentations, economic summaries, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support evaluation of strategic opportunities including farm-ins, farm-outs, or asset extensions, acquisitions, and other potential ventures.
- Conduct market assessments and analysis of regional oil and gas supply-demand fundamentals to support commercialization strategies and future project development.
- Prepare investment proposals and management decision papers.
- Contribute to feasibility evaluations and commercial structuring while coordinating internal and external stakeholders to support project execution timelines.
- Coordinate the internal review of new commercial agreements.
- Identify commercial optimization opportunities to enhance asset value, infrastructure utilization, and hydrocarbon monetization outcomes.
- Continuous improvement: Identifying areas in the organization for improvements and providing solutions as well as financial plannings to gain a better outcome.
- Any other tasks which may be required from time to time.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSQualification:
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent relevant qualification from recognized universities.
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience in audit, finance, business consulting related organization, while having a career background in oil & gas industry would be an added advantage.
- Skills and Knowledge
- Experience in economics and financial modelling is a strong asset.
- Commercial knowledge and understanding of petroleum fiscal terms and financial instruments is an added advantage.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
