The successful candidate will have experience teaching Economics, preferably with Business Studies or Accounting (or any two combination of subjects mentioned), throughout KS4 to A-Level.
For experienced candidates, there is a potential opportunity to be appointed as the Head of Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Economics lessons to KS4 and KS5 students, following the CIE IGCSE and A-Level syllabus.
- Inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine love for Economics in a stimulating classroom environment.
- Prepare students for external examinations, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
- Track and assess students progress, providing regular feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
- Participate fully in the wider academic, co-curricular, and pastoral life of the College.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree either in Economics, Business Studies, Accounting or a related discipline is required; a postgraduate teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) is preferred.
- Experience teaching at KS4 and KS5 within the British or international school system.
- An understanding of the CIE syllabus at both IGCSE and A-Level would be an advantage.
- The ability to teach Business at KS4 and/or KS5 would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with a commitment to student-centred learning.
- A collaborative and positive approach to teaching and professional development.
- Being able to offer BTEC Business at Level 2 would be an advantage.
