EH&S Intern
Job Description Summary
The EH&S Intern will support the EH&S department by entering and updating data in EHS SMART, coordinating and conducting inspections, managing follow-up actions, and overseeing concern reporting and best management practices.
Job Description
Data Entry and Management:
- Enter and update EH&S data into the EHS SMART system accurately and timely.
- Ensure all EH&S records are up-to-date and properly maintained.
Inspection Coordination and Execution:
- Assist in planning and scheduling EH&S inspections.
- Support routine inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Document inspection findings and follow up on corrective actions.
Follow-Up Actions:
- Track the closure of follow-up actions from inspections and audits.
- Communicate with relevant departments to ensure timely completion of corrective measures.
- Provide updates on follow-up actions to the EH&S Engineer and EH&S Manager.
Concern Reporting and Management:
- Manage the concern reporting system, ensuring all reports are logged and addressed promptly.
- Investigate reported concerns and recommend best management practices to address them.
- Promote a culture of safety by encouraging employees to report EH&S concerns.
Best Management Practices:
- Research and implement industry best practices for EH&S.
- Assist in developing and updating EH&S policies and procedures.
- Support the development and delivery of EH&S training programs.
Requirement
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
