EHS Consultant – Data Centre Construction

SP Data Centres is continuing its growth across Malaysia and is seeking an experienced EHS Consultant to support the delivery of major data centre construction projects within a high-performance, client-side environment.
This is a senior-level opportunity suited to an accomplished EHS professional with extensive experience overseeing complex, high-risk construction projects and engaging directly with principal contractors, consultants, and executive stakeholders.
You will play a key role in driving safety governance, influencing project culture, and ensuring world-class EHS standards are embedded throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide client-side EHS oversight across major construction projects, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice
- Conduct governance-level inspections, audits, and assurance reviews across contractors and supply chain partners
- Evaluate contractor safety management systems, risk controls, permit-to-work processes, investigations, and corrective action programs
- Monitor leading and lagging indicators to identify trends, drive accountability, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner closely with project teams, contractors, and leadership stakeholders to influence proactive safety culture and operational excellence
- Support incident investigations, emergency preparedness reviews, and ongoing EHS performance reporting
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years experience in senior EHS advisory, consulting, or client-side oversight roles within complex construction environments
- Strong background in data centres, major infrastructure, transport, energy, manufacturing, or other high-risk projects
- Excellent knowledge of local EHS legislation and international frameworks such as ISO 45001 and OSHA standards
- Demonstrated experience influencing contractors and stakeholders within fast-paced project environments
- Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting EHS data, trends, audits, and performance metrics
- Degree-qualified in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, CSP, CMIOSH, or equivalent highly regarded
