Your Job
As a licensed Safety & Health Officer (SHO), you will lead compliance and governance of EHS practices, ensuring alignment with local regulations, corporate standards, and ISO (14001 & 45001) requirements to maintain a safe and sustainable workplace.
Our Team
You will be part of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team, working closely with internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and compliance functions, while also liaising with external bodies such as DOSH and regulatory agencies. The team is focused on building a strong safety culture and ensuring operational excellence across all sites.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and ISO-compliant systems to support regulatory and corporate requirements
- Ensure full compliance with legal, customer, and company EHS standards across all operations
- Conduct regular EHS onsite inspections to identify risks and ensure compliance
- Perform safety reviews and buy-off for equipment, machinery, building, process, and layout safety
- Support Emergency Response Team (ERT) communication, training, evacuation, and drills
- Monitor contractor safety compliance, including access control and safety orientation programs
- Promote and drive a strong safety and health culture across the organization
- Collaborate with competent persons to monitor EHS performance, ensure timely regulatory submissions, and implement risk reduction programs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to proactively identify unsafe conditions or hazards and implement corrective actions
- Identify and implement industry best practices to continuously improve workplace safety
- Serve as Fire Safety Officer (FSO), supporting the Fire Safety Manager (FSM) in fire prevention and emergency preparedness initiatives
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor as needed
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Diploma or Degree in Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with valid DOSH (JKKP) Green Book
- Working knowledge of Malaysian EHS regulations and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 standards
- Strong computer literacy and database management skills
What Will Put You Ahead
- Certifications such as CePSWAM (Scheduled Waste Competent Person) or CePIETSO (Certified Environmental Professional in the Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems)
- Experience working with regulatory submissions and government agencies
- Experience handling emergency response planning and fire safety management
