About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified BO Chargeman (11KV) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation, maintenance, and inspection of our electrical systems in accordance with the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and related regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties as a certified BO Chargeman from the Energy Commission Malaysia (ST) in compliance with the Electricity Supply Act & Regulations 1990.
- Ensure all electrical systems and installations comply with relevant laws and regulations; liaise with authorities such as ST, TNB, and other governing bodies.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of 11KV electrical systems, ensuring quality, safety, and legal compliance.
- Coordinate and update management on inspection findings from electrical consultants, in line with Regulation 66 & 67 ESA 1990.
- Manage and maintain MV equipment (transformers, HT & LV switchgear, protection relays, battery chargers) and LV systems (main distribution panels, sub-DBs, lighting, air-conditioning, compressors, etc.).
- Monitor daily power consumption and power quality; implement preventive measures to avoid breakdowns and outages.
- Promote and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Oversee solar system operations, ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and environmental guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a Safety Management Plan and Programme as per ESA 1990 requirements.
- Liaise with ESH and regulatory departments to ensure compliance for firefighting facilities at electrical rooms.
- Support the HOD/management with ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Certified BO Chargeman (11KV) by Energy Commission (EC) / Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
- Minimum 5 years experience working with 11KV systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written & spoken).
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently.
- Knowledge in GMP, HACCP, HALAL, ISO, and EMS implementation/documentation is an added advantage.
