Electrical Control System Engineer

Role overview:

Electrical Design Engineer develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed. Provide support throughout the manufacturing of the electrical systems they have designed.

Role responsibilities:

• Work independently to design and develop technical solutions without assistance in a limited number of technical fields supporting common segments/technologies. May also solve complex problems in cooperation with a team of other engineers.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to design a control system that will enable the system to perform its intended function safely and reliably.
• Perform engineering calculations with respect to power consumption, current capacity, shielding, signal integrity, risk assessment, etc., as related to automation machinery and product designs.
• Develops new product prototypes to validate automation and product designs meets performance requirements, quality, and cost goals.
• Attend and interact in technical customer meetings.
• Design, modify and implement systems that meet requirements. e.g. Creation of Schematics, Cable Routing Diagrams, Panel Layouts, Bills of Material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
• Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems.
• Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
• Analyze and interpret data and information.
• Provide support during the manufacturing process.
• Recommend modifications for systems.
• Create reports and documentation.

Role requirements (Technical & Soft Transferable Skills)

• Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in E&E, Mechatronic or others Engineering courses with 2-5 years of relevant experiences.
• POWER : Power Distribution, Power Switching Supply
• CONTROL : Control System, Safety Circuit, PLC, PC, Industrial HMI, Robotic, Servo Motor, Stepper Motor, Pneumatic
• SCHEMATIC DESIGN: Digital, Analog, AC and DC Controls, Schematic Modelling and Generation (SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD), Electrical Panel Layout
• AUTOMATION : I/O Distribution, Sensor Selection and Design, Troubleshooting and Testing Automation Equipment
• STANDARDS : CE, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508A
• Willing to travel occasionally.
• Has experiences in Project Management, Leadership, Financial Acumen / Business Planning, Coaching/Mentoring, Communication/Negotiation/Presentation, Creative Problem Solving, Customer Interaction/Stakeholder Management; Quality & Lean
• Working Effectively with Others; D/PFMEA; 8D/Corrective Action; Equipment Safety; Design of Experiments (DOE).
