Electrical Designer

Job Title: Electrical Designer / Drafter

Department: M&E (Electrical)

Reports To: Electrical Team Leader

Location: Bandar Tasik Selatan, Sg. Besi, Kuala Lumpur

Position Overview

The Electrical Designer/Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and documentation for building services projects. This role supports the design team in delivering accurate and timely electrical design packages for commercial, residential, and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting

Prepare single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, lighting layouts, power distribution layouts,cable routing, and other electrical services drawings.

Develop AutoCAD models and ensure drawings comply with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.

Technical Support

Assist engineers in electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, and preparation of design reports.

Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure design integration.

Maintain drawing standards, layer management, and proper file documentation.

Project Coordination

Requirements

Education: Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent.

Experience:

35 years of relevant experience in M&E consultancy or construction industry (fresh graduates may be considered for junior role).

Proficient in AutoCAD;

Understanding of electrical systems such as LV distribution, lighting, earthing, and ELV systems (CCTV, fire alarm, data).

Good communication and teamwork skills.
