The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems for EV charging infrastructure projects. The role ensures electrical installations comply with technical specifications, safety requirements and regulatory standards while supporting project delivery and operational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, review and implementation of electrical systems for EV charging infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Conduct site surveys, technical assessments and feasibility studies.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility providers and internal stakeholders during project execution.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of EV charging equipment and associated electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, industry standards and company requirements.
- Monitor project progress and provide technical support to project and operations teams.
- Investigate electrical faults and recommend corrective actions to improve system reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate technical records, reports and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, energy, utilities, infrastructure, or EV-related industries.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, protection systems and power quality.
- Familiarity with EV charging systems, grid connection requirements and electrical standards is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Able to converse in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
