About the role
This position involves Electronics/Electrical Engineer to test and develop portable batteries and chargers for walkie-talkies (energy-related products). Engineers in this role will work on a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. Excellent communication skills are essential.
At this level, individuals are expected to handle complex issues and develop solutions where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors and/or frequent use of creativity. Also, to follow the complete electrical development life cycle, including requirements analysis, development, and testing. Familiarity with electronic design and an understanding of schematic design are required.
What you'll be doing
Involves in the new product development activities from conceptual stage to mass production including:
- Prepares new product concept design that meets customer requirements & expectations, design, process & safety guidelines.
- Performs electrical tolerance analysis and DFMEA.
- Supports prototype/pilot builds.
- Performs electrical verification test per product specifications and writing test reports.
- Releases electrical prints and parts qualification reports.
- Evaluates complex components and develops the necessary test procedures and fixtures to ensure compliance with the functional specifications.
- Participates in the testing and evaluations of complex designs to ensure compliance with the functional requirements (Detailed analysis of the results will be reviewed with a higher-level engineer or supervisor. The incumbent is expected to develop the necessary instrumentation skills and learn the standards that are relative to the designs).
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in related field (Fresh graduates are also welcomed to apply).
- Able to communicate & present the conceptual ideas to technical audiences.
- Familiar with battery cell charging and discharging characteristics and design requirements.
- Any prior experience in handling product qualification for Hazardous Location Certification, such as ATEX, TIA, INMETRO, MSHA, CSA or UL, are highly preferable.
- Familiar with design guidelines of electrical commodity.
- Familiar in digital signal communication like I2C, etc.
- Basic knowledge in manufacturing, assembly process, application of design for manufacturing & assembly.
- Familiar with schematic & layout design will be an added advantage (Able to troubleshoot digital design, familiar with RF technology, review schematic and layout).
- Familiar with six sigma methodology or green belt/black certified will be added advantage.
- Good in analytical and problem-solving skills.
