Electrical Manager

Role Overview

As the Electrical Engineer (Engineer/Senior Engineer), you will report to the Technical Manager and support the operations team. You will be Subject Matter expertise for the Data Centre Electrical system and play a role in designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems that are vital for the reliable and efficient operation of the data centre infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

·      Responsible for effectiveness of critical technical maintenance activities associated with HT and LT electrical system to reduce operational risk and in accordance with the MOP.

·      Ensure Data Centre's compliance to all legislation, codes of practice, compliance codes and safety aspect any other requirements/standards.

·      Develop and revise SOP, EOP and MOP for all the critical facility equipment and activities.

·      Involve in design, modification, improvement of electrical system in term of specification, installation, set up, extension, relocation and new building.

·      Act as the Change Management advocator and ensure all change requests are follow up and close timely.

·      Lead Engage with Shift team on incident investigation, follow up actions and the submission of the interim and final report to Senior Management for review.

·      Execute RCA for problem management to improve the uptime availability or productivity on the critical equipment system.

·      Capacity tracking and utilization trending with proactive monitoring and optimization. Initiate and execute energy efficiency program.

·      Identify the parameters to be trend in the BMS/DCIM system data and alarm trending focusing on data analysis to identify opportunities to improve the reliability/efficiency of the Critical equipment or processes.

·      Support Green Mark Data Center Certification and ensure that electrical system is compliance to the Green Mark requirement.

·      Support training and skill development to upskill the critical operation team and shift crews including knowledge sharing among colleagues on site and other Data Center.

·      Support and coordinate in Major activities like Annual Shutdown, Electrical Discrimination study exercise, UPS battery replacement, UPS Overhaul etc.

·      Assist the Operation team for trouble shooting of electrical failures and work with operations and equipment vendors for the resolution.

·      Perform cost saving measure and proposed to management the benefit of implementation.

·      Part of the reviewing and approval committee for all PTW, MOS and RA.

Qualifications & Experience

·      Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

·      At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering, with a focus on data center infrastructure.

·      Candidates with more than 6 years of experience may be considered for a senior role, provided they are technically strong.

·      Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word, BMS and CMMS/DCIM.

·      Excellent in problem solving and performing root cause analysis.

·      Ability to articulate and explain technical concepts to non-technical trained stakeholder.
