The Electrical Section Head is responsible to manage the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation team in the operation and maintenance of equipment with the best level of efficiency, effectiveness and compliance to the law. The incumbent is also responsible to ensure the high reliability and performance of equipment by continuous improvement of technology and know-how.
Key Accountabilities
- To ensure that all safety measures are being adhered to all the time including contractors in order to achieve zero LTI by following SOPs, Procedures, and Safety practices.
- To be transparent and show care for the safety of others by reporting Near Misses in the workplace.
- Ensure an overall coordination of all electrical, instrumentation and automation issues within the framework of the objectives set by the Maintenance Manager using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure all electrical equipment are operated, maintain and installed in accordance to the safety rules and legal requirements in order to avoid unnecessary accidents, breakdowns or penalty for violating the law. It includes conducting proper function test on spares before installation to avoid damages.
- Supervise the E&I and Automation staff in order to secure the best level of efficiency and effectiveness in the department. Including coordination of any breakdown repair during and after working hours.
- Conduct studies to continuously improve the E&I, automation equipment reliability and performance as well as maintenance schedules. It includes analyzing the daily breakdown or general emergencies to ensure the objectives are achieved and, if necessary, define immediate action to correct the situation.
- Be on high alert of the plant conditions and always ready to attend to on-call duty outside working hours/Off Days/Public Holidays when required to address problems related to E&I or other plant operation matter that may have direct/indirect concern to your area of responsibility.
- Participate in the general maintenance planning in terms of scheduled maintenance programs, annual shutdown and any assigned projects.
- Quantify and qualify the spare-parts and consumables needs and control their minimum and maximum stocks availability.
- Set and share Maintenance Department long, medium- and short-term goals and objectives in line with plant objectives.
- Preparation of the E&I budget and manage the approved budget.
- Control and optimize the overall E&I costs by analysing the suitability and reliability of all electrical equipment and by purchasing spare parts based on best quality, price and after-sales services spirit. It includes continuously develop the panel of suppliers and personal contacts.
- Responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the air-conditioning system in the plant and offices.
- Develop the spirit of standardization of all electrical, instrumentation & automation equipment.
- Continuously train and motivate subordinates in order to improve their qualification, productivity and team spirit. Ensure effective management of individual performance.
- Supervise the respect of all APM's procedures, policies and guidelines and ISO documents including topics outside maintenance such as Safety, Environment, and Procurement.
- Implement and adhere to all Internal Control Rules, the Code of Ethics, Anti Bribery Policy and Human Rights Policy.
- Ensure the respect of environmental practices & policies to minimize the contamination of environment.
- Take up any other roles assigned by the Maintenance Manager or the management of the company whenever required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2- 5 years electrical engineering working experience in manufacturing industry
- Knowledgeable in Design and function of electrical equipment,
- Maintenance and repair methods of electrical equipment, motors, etc.
- General knowledge of industrial instruments, their function, calibration, repair and maintenance methods
