Job Description
Ichor Systems is hiring for a technically skilled Electropolish Manager to lead and optimize our production operations with a strong focus on special processes, including electropolishing (EP), passivation, anodization, and related surface treatments. This role is responsible for ensuring process integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement across all EP-related activities.
Specific Job Duties
- Provide expert-level technical oversight of electropolishing, passivation, and anodization processes.
- Develop, implement and optimize EP process parameters to meet product specifications and performance targets.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for process deviations, defects, and equipment issues.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain robust process control systems, including SPC and FMEA documentation.
- Author and maintain technical work instructions, SOPs, and process validation protocols.
- Ensure all special processes comply with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines
- Support internal and external audits related to special process certifications and accreditations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process stability, yield enhancement, and cost reduction.
- Evaluate and recommend upgrades to EP equipment, tooling, and automation technologies.
- Train and mentor operators and technicians on EP process fundamentals, safety, and quality practices.
- Monitor and report on technical KPIs such as process capability, defect rates, and equipment uptime.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Materials Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry
- More than 5 years in metal surface finishing, plating, or electropolishing environment preferred
- Experience with stainless steel EP process, rectifier operation, or passivation line setup.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical processes and chemical bath control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of process validation, FMEA, and SPC
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, lean principles, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma)
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Broad knowledge of process/production principles
- Ability to plan, organize, motivate and evaluate assigned resources
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally
- Proficient in the use of MS and mainframe applications
- Advanced people skills: ability to evaluate, coach and motivate employees
