Engineer I/II/ Senior Mechanical Design

Job Scope

General

• Evaluate existing high speed/ high technology standard automation rotary die sorter handler
• Design and develop industrial machines, automation systems, and mechanical components
• Utilize 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed mechanical models and technical drawings
• Ensure designs meet functionality, durability, and manufacturability requirements
• Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) & DFA (Design for Assembly) principles to optimize designs
• Work with the manufacturing team to develop and test prototypes
• Collaborate with electrical, software and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure design feasibility and cost optimization
• Assist customer support group with on field design related to customer requests and issues
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Superior

Additional Responsibility

Engineer II:

• Perform the general tasks with minimum supervision
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

Senior Engineer:

• Identify and implement process improvement to enhance mechanical systems
• Train and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing
• Mastering machine operation and working principle

Job requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering/Mechatronics with second upper class or above
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical modelling and drafting
• Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) & DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
• Familiarity with pneumatics, and motion control systems used in industrial machinery
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding
• Ability to create and maintain technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and documentation
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Positive thinking and willing to provide extended support to customers
• Enjoy learning new things and willing to accept new challenges

Years of working experience:

Engineer I: 1 year of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automation, or industrial equipment industry.

Engineer II: At least 2 years of working experience in relevant field

Senior Engineer: At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in relevant field
