JOB PURPOSE : To support the identification, evaluation, and development of large- scale solar opportunities by managing market studies, coordinating tender submissions, supporting commercial negotiations and assisting in the management of awarded projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct market research and opportunity screening for large-scale solar projects, including LSS and utility-scale PV.
- Prepare business proposals, financial models, investment papers, business presentations, and technology assessments for potential and awarded projects.
- Support project development activities for awarded projects, including preparation of documentation, coordination of approvals, and tracking of project milestones up to financial close.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation required for internal Investment Committee approvals.
- Monitor regulatory developments, policies, and industry trends relevant to large-scale solar and renewable energy projects.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Business Development & Commercial Support
- Prepare business correspondence, presentations, quotations, proposals and other relevant sales and marketing materials.
- Assist in identifying new business leads, potential partners and emerging markets.
- Engage and liaise with potential business partners and stakeholders via email, phone, online meetings or in-person meetings to establish relationships and explore collaboration opportunities.
- Support the development of business targets, strategies and annual planning.
- Participate in the planning, execution and oversight of business development initiatives.
- Support and participate in negotiations with stakeholders on commercial terms, term sheets and partnership structures.
Coordination &Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate closely with internal teams including engineering, legal, finance and project development to ensure alignment of commercial and technical requirements.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as consultants, partners, authorities and financial institutions.
- Work with the Commercial and Legal Manager in the preparation and finalisation of commercial agreements and legal documentation.
Representation & Engagement
- Support and participate in business presentations, meetings, conferences and industry events as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Renewable Energy or related disciplines required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in business development, project development or commercial roles required.
- Prior exposure to renewable energy/ solar projects will be an added advantage.
- Experience in tender management or proposal coordination is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
- Understanding of business development processes and tender procedures.
- Basic knowledge of commercial and financial concepts.
- Awareness of industry, market trends and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with project development life cycle and stakeholder coordination.
SKILSS
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia(spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High ethical standards, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Independent and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
