Job Summary:
- Responsible for the total maintenance of equipment's machineries and facilities of the factory.
- Plan, implement, monitor and control repairs and maintenance through preventive maintenance programs.
- Strive for higher efficiency and effectiveness at lower R&M and overall variable cost.
- Continuously upgrade and improve machine capability and productivity.
- Establish, implement and improve job performance and productivity in the Maintenance & Engineering Department.
- Carryout project works for upgrading, improvement and expansion.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule weekly and annual maintenance and to monitor completion of jobs.
- Ensure all fabrication and installation work complies with safety regulation and good engineering practices.
- Conduct feasibility study; develop concepts and models; plan, prepare drawings, fabrication, installation and commissioning on projects assigned by the management.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining the policies, procedures and work instruction of the Maintenance & Engineering Department and the Process Control (maintenance) and calibration requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.
- Ensure Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is being implemented and executed.
- Identify training requirements in the Maintenance & Engineering Department.
- Develop leadership and team spirit amongst subordinate and workers.
- Inculcate group spirit and group spirit and group concept in the Maintenance & Engineering Department.
- Lead, participate and promote group activities amongst subordinate and workers.
- To liaise with Government departments and to ensure all equipment's are safe to be used under the government legislation (e.g. Bomba, DOSH, TNB etc.).
- To liaise with suppliers and contractors on all relevant matters.
- Liaise with other departments to get things done and to promote inter departmental co-operation.
- To collect statistical data, analyst and prepare realistic budget for Maintenance & Engineering Department.
- To identify methods for improvement in the following areas: -
- Machine down time
- Engineering stocks holding
- Management of Safety, 5S & ISO
- Follow all safety procedures & regulations and ensure safe work environment.
- Implement and participate actively in 5S activities for the Department & Organization.
- Support other key strategic 5S programs where necessary.
- Adhere to ISO standards compliance.
- Any other duties as directed by the Superior and Company Management
Authority:
- To decide on any actions and activities carried out by staff of Maintenance & Engineering Department.
- Approve purchases by Sectional Heads.
- Carry out all appropriate actions to ensure the smooth operations of the plant maintenance and meeting all performance indicators.
- Carry out disciplinary actions, where appropriate to his authority.
Job Requirements:
Formal qualification: Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent.
Experience: Knowledge in Fibre-Cement Industry with 10 years manufacturing management experience is an added advantage.
