Job Description

We are partnering with a leading global organisation in the Banking and Financial Services sector that is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to drive the architecture, engineering strategy, and delivery of next-generation payment solutions. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for providing architectural direction, fostering engineering excellence across multiple teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and regulatory-compliant payment platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own and enhance the Equities trading product roadmap, aligning product capabilities with business goals and client needs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Equities Order Management and Trading across multiple markets.
  • Partner with Product Owners to define product features, prioritise backlogs, and deliver business value.
  • Translate business and user feedback into product improvements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Technology teams to ensure solutions meet functional and technical objectives.
  • Support product rollout, user enablement, training, and adoption.
  • Monitor product performance, user experience, operational efficiency, and platform stability.
  • Ensure product changes comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including order management, execution, settlement, reporting, portfolio management, market data, and corporate actions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years experience in Financial Services IT, with 3–5 years in Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Investment Banking, or Trading Platforms.
  • Proven experience as a Product Specialist, Product Owner, Business Domain SME, or Platform Specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of Equities trading, order management systems, trade lifecycle, settlement, portfolio management, and market data.
  • Experience working with trading platforms, security master, static data, trading and settlement accounts.
  • Good understanding of FIX and SWIFT messaging protocols.
  • Knowledge of trading controls, market regulations, wash trade prevention, and operational risk.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
