Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager role with a strong background in Java-based enterprise application development, engineering leadership, and large-scale distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of software development experience, including 3-5 years in engineering management, leading high-performing teams and delivering mission-critical applications.

The role requires balancing technical leadership, people management, architecture decision-making, and execution excellence while driving innovation and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using:
• Java 8/11/17+
• Spring Boot
• Spring Cloud
• Hibernate/JPA
• RESTful APIs & Microservices
• Define system architecture and technology roadmaps.
• Review architecture, design documents, and code to ensure quality and scalability.
• Drive cloud-native application development and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, design patterns, and security best practices.

Engineering Management

• Lead and manage teams of 10-25 engineers, including developers, tech leads, and architects.
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and retain top engineering talent.
• Conduct performance reviews, career development discussions, and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies and delivery excellence.

Delivery & Execution

• Own end-to-end delivery of projects from requirements through production deployment.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Drive sprint planning, estimation, release planning, and risk management.
• Ensure high-quality releases with predictable delivery timelines.
• Monitor engineering metrics, team productivity, and operational excellence.

Cloud & DevOps

• Drive adoption of:
• AWS/Azure/GCP
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipelines
• Infrastructure as Code
• Improve deployment automation and operational efficiency.
• Establish observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks.

Operational Excellence

• Manage production support and incident response.
• Drive root cause analysis and post-mortem reviews.
• Ensure system availability, scalability, and performance SLAs.
• Champion DevSecOps and SRE practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10-15 years of software engineering experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of people management experience.
