Engineering Manager (Maintenance)

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (Maintenance) to join Sun Pharma Malaysia's Engineering Department. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of our facilities, utilities, and process equipment throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead the Maintenance Engineering function and play a key role in achieving business unit KPIs by supporting operational and engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement asset care strategies to improve overall equipment performance and reliability.

• Lead engineering teams for installation and maintenance of facilities, utilities, and process equipment.

• Optimize maintenance costs while enhancing asset availability using advanced techniques (RCM, risk-based approaches, Lean/Six Sigma).

• Maintain technical expertise for key equipment and utilities (e.g., formulation equipment, boiler, air compressor, chiller, purified water plant, HVAC).

• Provide guidance on design and procurement of process equipment and utilities for pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging.

• Prepare and manage operating and capital expenditure budgets effectively.

• Coach, develop, and motivate team members to foster a high-performance culture.

• Manage third-party vendors, ensuring compliance and performance standards.

• Drive productivity improvements and upskill staff for new technologies.

• Lead audits by regulatory agencies (e.g., NPRA, CQA) and ensure adherence to cGMP standards.

• Implement and maintain Quality Systems within the maintenance function.

• Act as custodian of safety and compliance for engineering activities on site.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.

• Minimum 8 years of experience as an Engineering Maintenance Manager in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industries.
