1. Job Purpose
To lead and manage all engineering, maintenance, and utilities functions to ensure high equipment reliability, plant efficiency, safety compliance, and cost-effective operations while supporting production and business growth.
The role focuses on engineering strategy, asset reliability, energy efficiency, compliance, and improvement projects rather than daily repair activities.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Engineering & Maintenance Leadership
- Lead and oversee maintenance and engineering operations across the plant.
- Develop maintenance strategies to reduce equipment downtime.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance systems are effective.
- Support maintenance team in solving chronic technical issues.
B. Equipment Reliability & Improvement
- Drive reliability improvement programs.
- Lead root cause analysis for major breakdowns.
- Implement equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Improve plant productivity through engineering solutions.
C. Utilities & Energy Management
- Manage plant utilities including boilers, compressors, chillers, electrical distribution, and water systems.
- Drive energy and utility consumption reduction initiatives.
- Ensure statutory inspections and compliance are maintained.
D. Capital & Improvement Projects
- Plan and execute CAPEX and improvement projects.
- Support new production line installation and expansion projects.
- Manage contractors and vendors during project execution.
E. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with DOSH, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, BOMBA, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure machine safety, LOTO, and safe engineering practices.
- Support food safety and quality audit requirements.
F. Cost & Budget Management
- Prepare and control maintenance and engineering budgets.
- Optimize spare parts and maintenance cost.
- Manage contractor and service provider performance.
G. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop maintenance and utilities teams.
- Build technical capability within department.
- Establish performance KPIs and accountability.
