Role Description The Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) will work full time on-site at Sera Protocol's office in WP, Kuala Lumpur. The EIR will explore, validate, and develop new product and business opportunities within the cross-border FX and payments ecosystem, including market research, hypothesis testing, and customer discovery. This role involves designing and iterating product concepts, collaborating with engineering and product teams, and shaping go-to-market strategies for high-impact initiatives. The EIR will create business cases, pitch decks, and strategic plans, and support fundraising or partnership discussions when needed. Day-to-day responsibilities include close collaboration with leadership, rapid experimentation, and execution-focused project management to move promising ideas from concept to pilot and, where viable, towards scalable ventures.

Qualifications

• Strong background in entrepreneurship, venture building, or startup leadership, with a track record of identifying, validating, and scaling new business opportunities.
• Experience in fintech, payments, FX, blockchain, or stablecoins, with the ability to understand complex market structures and regulatory considerations.
• Competence in market research, customer discovery, and data-driven analysis to support product and business decisions.
• Skills in business modeling, financial projections, and strategic planning for new products or ventures.
• Ability to work hands-on with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business development, to drive rapid experimentation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to produce clear documentation, pitch decks, and stakeholder updates.
• Comfort with ambiguity, high ownership mentality, and willingness to iterate quickly based on feedback and market signals.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage but not required.
• Prior experience working on-site in fast-paced, innovation-focused environments; familiarity with the Southeast Asia or global payments landscape is a plus.
