Job Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) and Environmental Management Systems at project sites.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor Project Safety Plans in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Advise, coordinate, and work closely with the Operations team on all safety, health, and environmental matters to maintain a high level of safety performance.
  • Discharge duties in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994), Environmental Quality Act 1974 (EQA), Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (FMA), and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, client requirements, and company safety rules and procedures.
  • Liaise with regulatory and statutory bodies including DOSH (JKKP), CIDB, NIOSH, BOMBA, and other relevant authorities on safety compliance matters.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control) and overall risk management systems.
  • Organise and promote EHS activities, safety campaigns, and awareness programmes at site level.
  • Conduct and enforce safety training, toolbox talks, briefings, and safety promotion programmes.
  • Measure, monitor, and report WSH performance, safety statistics, trends, and key safety objectives.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain Emergency Preparedness & Response Plans, Occupational Health Programmes, Permit-to-Work Systems, and other related safety programmes.
  • Oversee and lead the Safety team and subcontractors in the implementation of company safety systems at project sites.
  • Maintain proper WSHE documentation, administrative systems, and records.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs, prepare reports, and ensure follow-up corrective actions.
  • Be prepared to stop work or notify the Operations team in the event of any WSHE non-compliance or unsafe conditions.
  • Lead and assist in incident, accident, near-miss, and dangerous occurrence investigations, including reporting and recommending preventive measures.
  • Liaise and coordinate with clients, consultants, developers, authorities, and external agencies on safety-related matters.
  • Facilitate and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by Management from time to time.

Skills, Experience & Education Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) Green Book holder.
  • Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) with valid DOSH Yellow Book registration.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an EHS-related role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or engineering industries.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMA, EQA, and other Malaysian safety regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with environmental-related certifications will have an added advantage.
  • Willing to travel and must possess own transport.

  • Ability to make sound decisions, work independently, and set safety standards.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing safety programmes and fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
