Duties and responsibilities
- To actively monitor, audit and carry-out random checks to ensure compliance as per ESIA ESMP recommendations.
- To actively monitor, audit and carry-out random checks on the compliance based on Project Environment & Social Management System Manual and project specific Environment & Social Management Plans including all applicable national laws.
- To ensure the updated requirements under IFC performance Standards and applicable national laws are implemented and properly documented by EPCC.
- Report any feedback regarding changes needed to implement ESMS.
- Oversee and continuously monitor implementation of EHS programs and activities in continuous checks of the worksite.
- To ensure all activities have developed its Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and communicated to all relevant working groups.
- To generate daily reports regarding EHS&S matters to Project Manager and Group EHS&S Manager and Management.
- To participate in all EHS&S meetings of EPCC.
- To participate in EPCC toolbox meetings, trainings, programs and other EHS meetings to witness the implementation and provide recommendations to enhance or improve the system.
- To initiate weekly EHS&S coordination meetings and document it.
- To oversee management of water usage and waste management (scheduled and hazardous).
- To participate in EHS investigation on all accidents, incidents, establish and analyze roof cause for detailed assessment and implement actions.
- Support regular and unannounced monitoring visits.
- Support stakeholder/ community relationship management surrounding the project sites/plants
- Complete additional tasks requested by Project Manager and Group EHS&S Manager
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma/ Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- At least 5 years of EHS experience in the related field is required in this position, preferably from the solar industry.
- Green book holder registered to Malaysia Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) as Safety Health Officer.
- Required language (s): English, Bahasa Malaysia
- Proactive self-starter with an analytical mind and problem-solving skills
- Applicants must be willing to work in Kedah.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Contract position for 6 months extendable based on new project commencement.
- 5 Working Days (Monday-Friday); standby during weekends whenever required.
