Role Description The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Facility Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kulim, responsible for overseeing all EHS programs and facility operations. This role develops, implements, and monitors environmental, health, and safety policies, ensuring compliance with local regulations, corporate standards, and industry best practices. The manager leads risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions, and organizes training and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture across the site. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising facility maintenance and infrastructure projects, managing waste and resource usage, coordinating inspections and audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business continuity and sustainability goals. The role also includes preparing reports and metrics for leadership, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and serving as the primary contact for regulatory agencies related to EHS and facility matters.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental management, occupational health, and workplace safety, including regulatory compliance and risk assessment.
  • Experience managing facility operations, such as building maintenance, utilities, equipment, and related vendor or contractor activities.
  • Strong skills in developing and implementing EHS programs, procedures, and training to support a proactive safety culture.
  • Ability to lead audits, incident investigations, and corrective action planning, with effective documentation and follow-up.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting for EHS and facility performance indicators, including use of relevant software tools.
  • Solid project management capabilities, with experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and meeting timelines and budgets.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and work collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; professional certifications in EHS or facilities (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 14001/45001 experience) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within a global organization, is highly beneficial.
