Role Description

We are looking for a talented individual for Senior Environmental Scientist to join our visionary team. The role would entail working with our multi-disciplinary team to lead environmental research projects focused on safeguarding coastal and marine environments and in support of sustainable maritime and port operations.

The ideal candidate will be experienced and knowledgeable in environmental science and impact assessments, including water, air, and biodiversity, and exceptionally skilled in statistical analysis, high-level analytical thinking and problem-solving, with meticulous attention to detail, capable of translating complex data into actionable intelligence and strategic advice.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental research projects, including data collection and analysis, particularly focused on the coastal and marine environment.
• Provide environmental and policy advisory services to support and address environmental sustainability needs.
• Conduct in-depth research, utilizing analytical techniques to identify and assess environmental risks and opportunities.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges, ensuring data-driven and sustainable outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging collective intelligence and advanced tools to enhance environmental risk management and decision-making processes.
• Write detailed reports on analysis and research, and prepare materials that effectively communicate findings.
• Present information in a clear and understandable manner during meetings and presentations.
• Maintain and foster positive with clients, providing insights and guidance to support their strategic objectives.
• Support in proposal development to tailor services to client needs as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Master's or higher degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Ecology or related field.
• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in environmental consulting, research or regulatory roles.
• Proficient in both English and Malay, with outstanding communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge across environmental fields (air, water, biodiversity) with specialisation in at least one (1) field.
• Demonstrated excellence in statistical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A track record in quantitative and qualitative environmental research.
• A track record in leading stakeholder and client engagement.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage own workload and to lead projects.
