Job Description

Role Summary

The Mod Equipment Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying manufacturing equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role ensures optimal equipment performance, supports engineering and process improvements, and delivers timely, high-quality technical support to operations.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Equipment Installation & Maintenance

Install, maintain, repair, and modify manufacturing equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and calibrations according to documented schedules and procedures.

Determine when PMs and calibrations are due and ensure timely completion.

Operate equipment to verify performance quality after maintenance or repair.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

Diagnose equipment problems and implement effective corrective actions.

Identify equipment inaccuracies, inefficiencies, or performance gaps and resolve them.

Anticipate potential issues, analyze root causes, generate alternative solutions, and develop action plans.

Make technical decisions and recommendations based on data analysis.

Monitoring & Data Analysis

Monitor equipment effectiveness and overall efficiency metrics.

Interpret performance data and communicate machine performance trends.

Use equipment tracking systems to review equipment history and maintain accurate documentation.

Engineering & Process Support

Assist engineering teams with process development activities.

Support experiments, equipment evaluations, and process qualifications.

Participate in new tool installations and converted equipment qualifications.

Assist with software upgrades and system enhancements.

Continuous Improvement & Quality

Identify and drive equipment and process improvement initiatives.

Actively participate in quality improvement efforts.

Use data and factual analysis to justify improvements.

Contribute suggestions through formal improvement or suggestion programs.

Recommend topics or focus areas for quality teams.

Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping

Perform all work in compliance with company, local, state, and federal safety requirements.

Follow all safe work practices, including PPE and area safety/security procedures.

Know and apply proper energy isolation (LOTO) procedures.

Access and use the Micron Cedar program to obtain chemical safety information.

Maintain a clean, safe, and accident-free work environment.

Professional Development

Attain and maintain all required technical and safety certifications.

Stay current with standardized procedures, equipment documentation, and process guidelines.

Recruitment :

• Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering

• Knowledge of semiconductor assembly processes; experience in Equipment installation and maintenance and trouble shooting is an added advantage.

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing is preferred

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills

• Ability to analyze equipment data and identify abnormal trends

• Strong performer, fast learner, independent, and highly motivated

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment
