Job Description

Your role

  • Support and execute trades in Malaysian equities for institutional and professional clients.
  • Provide actionable market colour, liquidity insights, and execution advice to clients and coverage teams.
  • Advise on execution strategies including blocks, worked orders, portfolio trading, and electronic solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with global trading and execution teams to source liquidity and manage cross-market transactions.
  • Partner with Equity Sales to identify cross-selling opportunities across cash equities, execution services, portfolio trading, and electronic trading solutions.
  • Contribute to revenue growth by supporting broader client relationships and wallet share expansion.
  • Ensure strict adherence to local regulatory requirements, conduct standards, and internal risk controls.
  • Manage execution risks, errors, and escalations promptly and transparently.
  • Support team development by mentoring junior staff and contributing to desk best practices.

The Equity Sales Trader (Associate Director) supports trading and execution in Malaysian equities, providing market colour, execution advisory, and client support to institutional clients. The role partners closely with regional and global equity sales, trading, and execution teams to deliver best execution, deepen client engagement, and drive franchise and cross-selling opportunities across equities and related products.

Your expertise

  • 5–10 years experience in equity sales trading or execution, with strong exposure to Malaysian equities.
  • Experience working with institutional clients and regional or global counterparties.
  • Solid understanding of market structure, liquidity, and best execution principles.
  • Strong communication skills, commercial judgement, and risk awareness.
  • Relevant Malaysian regulatory license (or ability to obtain).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
